A NEW NAME IS COMING...
Two great traditions — one path to the future!
It is with great pleasure that we
announce that Amsterdam Memorial Healthcare (AMH) and St.
Mary's Hospital at Amsterdam (SMHA) have signed an Asset
Acquisition Agreement. This is a very significant step
forward in combining our two great traditions into one
health care organization.
Plans are on schedule for the process
to be completed by June 1, 2009. After the two organizations
become one, we will operate under the name of St. Mary’s
Hospital at Amsterdam with both campuses continuing to
provide health services.
This is exciting news for us; SMHA is
a leading health care provider in our region and our
patients will have access to an expanded and enhanced range
of services. Many AMH staff will become part of this dynamic
organization. Please be assured once the closing is
finalized our mission will remain the same – to provide high
quality, compassionate care to our patients and residents.
For any outstanding AMH billing
issues, which includes any services provided by Amsterdam
Memorial through May 31, 2009, the AMH Business Office will remain open until September 30,
2009. The hours of operation will be Monday – Friday, from
8:00am until 4:00pm at the Route 30 campus. They can be
reached by phone at (518) 841-3590. For Wilkinson
Center billing issues, please continue to contact
518-841-3670.
After the closing, your medical record
will continue to be housed on our Route 30 campus so
that the information related to your care is available
without interruption. If you wish to obtain a copy of your
medical record you may make a request in writing to the
Health Information Management Department, 4988 State Highway
30, Amsterdam, New York 12010 (main telephone number: 518-842-3100).
We look forward to the future
combining the best practices of both facilities, in order to
offer the greatest range of benefits to patients, residents,
associates, physicians and our community.
